For many decades until 2019, The Mercury was the community magazine distributed to homes by some 20 villagers. It provided local news, reports from local social groups, The Methodist Church and The Primary Academy. It also gave a platform to those who wished to comment on the big issues of the day or to share seasonal gardening tips.
