The 74th Mottram St Andrew Village show took place in the Hall on the 6th September 2025.

The Community Pride Award, to recognise contributions to the Community, was launched by the Parish Council in 2023.

On Saturday we were delighted to host, I think, our first Mehendi.

Chris wins the prize for the biggest onion yet again. No matter how you try, he won’t reveal the secret growth formula. The judges’ standards were demanding.

Whilst world leaders and the few remaining fit veterans, the real VIPs, were commemorating on Gold Beach, Normandy we, in our subdued way, remembered in our chapel the start of the battles which liberated continental Europe 80 years ago.

Or just Mick – as we all know him. Ever present to make events happen at the Hall. The village’s unanimous choice for the first annual award and a tough act to follow. Congratulations Mick.

Our annual trip to Chester for the Races on Ladies Day took place on Thursday 9th May 2024.

A dog really does become one of your closest friends and why I have only had one in over 60 years I have no idea. Ally was a yellow Labrador and friends who have known me over the last 15 years will have known him.

A tribute to John Crawford Atty.

Don Parkinson celebrated his 90th birthday recently, and to no-one’s surprise decided to hold his big birthday bash in his beloved village hall.

Each Thursday we open the doors at 7.15 and our dancers rush in, looking forward to another great evening.

Katy Hatton has been running Brownies at the village hall for almost 20 years.

The Guides have gained their higher level Gold Award.
